As Veterans of Combat in Foreign Theaters, our Post is committed to the ideals of maintaining safety in all aspects. We understand that, to remain safe, vigilance is constant against all threats. We respect those who sacrifice themselves to keep our homes, communities and lives in a free and secure environment.
Annually we celebrate our local First Responders who have gone above and beyond the call to keep us secure in our society by jointly holding, with our American Legion brothers of Post 290, an open-house Safety Day event where the public can engage and help us recognize our local heroes. We present awards to members of:
for extraordinary work and/or selfless acts. This family friendly celebration includes displays from each of the organizations where kids can interact and ask questions, display tables from other safety related teams, a free lunch, and concludes with the presentation of Certificates of Achievement for our honorees.
